Basketball Game Preview: White Knoll Timberwolves vs. Dutch Fork Silver Foxes

White Knoll hasn't had much luck against Dutch Fork recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The White Knoll Timberwolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Dutch Fork Silver Foxes at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Dutch Fork will be up against a hot White Knoll squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. White Knoll blew past River Bluff 59-22 on Thursday. Given the Timberwolves' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Gators are ranked 100th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

White Knoll got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Shaelyn Hayes out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds. Hayes is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Emory Waters-Inman was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 16 boards.

White Knoll smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in six consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Dutch Fork came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 60-34 margin over the Eagles.

Dutch Fork's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.1 points per game. As for White Knoll, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
