Softball Recap: Lake Oswego Wins Going Away Against Grant

Lake Oswego not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 5, 2024. They put the hurt on the Grant Generals with a sharp 16-5 victory. The Lakers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Ava Beach made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Avery Latta was a standout: she scored four runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Macy Maxwell, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Lake Oswego hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most three strikeouts in three consecutive contests.

The win got Lake Oswego back to even at 2-2. As for Grant, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Lake Oswego will take on David Douglas at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. As for Grant, they will face off against Westview at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
