Preview: Parish Hill Pirates vs. Capital Prep Trailblazers
The Parish Hill Pirates will head out on the road to square off against the Capital Prep Trailblazers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Connecticut (Parish Hill is ranked 147th, while Capital Prep is ranked 144th).
Last Monday, Parish Hill came up short against CREC [Computer Science and Engineering/Academy of Aerospace and Engineering] and fell 43-32. Parish Hill has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Julie Millerd, who scored four points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Hannah Becker, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a 79-32 finish the last time they played, Capital Prep and Hartford Public decided to play a little more cautiously this time around. Capital Prep was the clear victor by a 39-13 margin over Hartford Public. That looming 39-13 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Capital Prep yet this season.
Parish Hill's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Capital Prep, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6.
Parish Hill came up short against Capital Prep in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 40-35. Can Parish Hill avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
