Basketball Recap: Sparta Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Sparta can now relate to. They took a blow against the Covenant Christian Chargers on Thursday, falling 62-32. The match marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Sparta moved to 14-12 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Covenant Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

As for Covenant Christian, they will square off against Marshall on Tuesday. Marshall will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something Covenant Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
