Softball Recap: Vallivue Wins High-Profile Game Against Nampa

Vallivue faced Nampa in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Falcons put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 14-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Maris Farner made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off nine hits. Farner was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Vallivue got a massive performance out of Ali Knowles, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. What's more, Knowles posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March. Bella Magallon was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Vallivue lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Vallivue is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Nampa, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-7.
