Mason City is 8-2 against Fort Dodge since February of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Mason City Mohawks will be playing at home against the Fort Dodge Dodgers at 7:45 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Tuesday, Mason City came up short against Marshalltown and fell 40-27. The match marked the Mohawks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Fort Dodge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 72-57 fall against Waterloo East. While losing is never fun, the Dodgers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while the Trojans are ranked 124th).

This is the second loss in a row for Mason City and nudges their season record down to 6-5. As for Fort Dodge, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.

Everything came up roses for Mason City against Fort Dodge in their previous matchup on January 6th, as the squad secured a 78-35 win. Will Mason City repeat their success, or does Fort Dodge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
