League recap: Herrmann dominating on the mound for Coon Rapids

Northwest Suburban league recap: 5/14/12

Cody Herrmann was the best pitcher in Northwest Suburban this week. He accumulated one win and seven strikeouts.

Coon Rapids trails Maple Grove by just 0.5 games in the league standings, which means there could be a new first-place team by next week.

Park Center boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks. The Pirates' pitchers have been charged with only 83 hits and have struck out 47 batters. Mark Lundholm is tops on the staff with 19 Ks.

The week's strikeout crown belonged to Alex Wojciechowski, who turned in nine Ks for the Cardinals. He's fifth in the league with 23 total strikeouts.

Coon Rapids' Alex Aase finished his week with seven hits, tops in the league. On the season, he's hitting .300 and ranks sixth in the league with 15 hits.
