Softball Game Preview: Jurupa Valley Jaguars vs. Norte Vista Braves

The Jurupa Valley Jaguars will take on the Norte Vista Braves at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Jurupa Valley and 11 for Norte Vista.

Jurupa Valley came up short against Patriot on Thursday, falling 10-4.

Amanda Vargas was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

La Sierra hit Norte Vista with a four-run fourth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Braves fell 9-4 to the Eagles.

Nicole Cline put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and seven unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). Cline was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one run.

In other batting news, Angelina Mercado made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Grace Cervantes was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Norte Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17-1. As for Jurupa Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.

Jurupa Valley took their win against Norte Vista in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 20-1 score. Will the Jaguars repeat their success, or do the Braves have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
