Preview: Tri County Trojans vs. Pawnee City Indians

Tri County is 8-2 against Pawnee City since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Tri County Trojans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pawnee City Indians. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Saturday, Tri County strolled past Johnson County Central with points to spare, taking the game 62-45. With that win, Tri County brought their scoring average up to 53 points per game.

Tri County had a senior duo take command as Caden Bales scored 24 points along with 8 rebounds and Cameron Reynolds scored 23 points along with 6 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Bales has scored at least 25% of Tri County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Siems, who scored 8 points.

Meanwhile, Pawnee City beat Frankfort 60-50 on Friday. With that victory, Pawnee City brought their scoring average up to 51.5 points per game.

Jett Farwell was the offensive standout of the matchup as he scored 24 points along with 5 assists and 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Oscar Machini, who scored 9 points along with 3 steals.

The victory makes it two in a row for Tri County and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Pawnee City, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Tri County beat Pawnee City 64-55 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Pawnee City's Joseph Marteney, who scored 15 points along with 3 steals.
