Recap: Socorro Bulldogs vs. Midland Bulldogs
The Socorro Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. Their rough 48-28 loss to Midland might stick with them for a while. Socorro lost against Midland in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 47-41 score last time.
Socorro lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nataly Dominguez, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Dominguez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Yesenia Escudero, who scored no points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Socorro has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Midland, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.
Socorro won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Cooper at 11:00 a.m. on December 29, 2023. Cooper is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak. Midland is on the road again on Friday and play against Centennial at 11:00 a.m. on December 29, 2023. Centennial will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
