Volleyball Recap: Pebblebrook Takes a Loss

It was a Battle of the Birds when Pebblebrook challenged Hillgrove on Tuesday. The Falcons fell 2-0 to the Hawks. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Hawks when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Hillgrove's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nasreen Zelaya-Salimi, who had four digs and three aces. That's the most aces Zelaya-Salimi has posted over her last seven matches. Kaitlyn Breitbach also deserves some recognition as she had her first dig of the season.

Pebblebrook now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Hillgrove, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-15 record this season.

Pebblebrook has already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Paulding County on the 16th. As for Hillgrove, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Harrison on the 16th.
