Basketball Recap: Augusta Prep Day Comes Up Short

After flying high against Monsignor Donovan Catholic last Tuesday, Augusta Prep Day came back down to earth. The Augusta Prep Day Cavaliers were beaten by the Gatewood Gators 50-14 on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their matchups with the Gators: they've now lost five in a row.

Augusta Prep Day's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Gatewood, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-7.

Augusta Prep Day and Gatewood could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. Augusta Prep Day (ranked 510th) will meet Edmund Burke Academy (ranked 154th) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Gatewood will challenge Trinity Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 148 places (283 vs. 135).
