Volleyball Preview: Ramsey Rams vs. Martinsville Bluestreaks
Ramsey has been away from home for two games now, but on Friday they'll finally make their return. They will host the Martinsville Bluestreaks at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, Ramsey didn't have quite enough to beat Patoka and fell 2-1. While the Rams didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Warriors 25-20 in the first set.
Ramsey was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Patoka work for it, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 26-24, 25-14.
Meanwhile, Martinsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell just short of Lawrenceville by a score of 2-1.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Martinsville sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 21-25, 25-21.
Ramsey's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Martinsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-20.
Ramsey was able to grind out a solid victory over Martinsville when the teams last played back in October of 2023, winning 2-0. Will Ramsey repeat their success, or does Martinsville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
