Softball Recap: Lincoln Park Has No Trouble Against Juarez

Lincoln Park got themselves on the board against Juarez on Monday, but Juarez never followed suit. They blew past the Eagles 16-0. That 16 run margin sets a new team best for the Lions this season.

Susanna Morris was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Morris was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

In other batting news, Natalie Alvarez was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Bella Garcia also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Lincoln Park was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Lincoln Park's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-8. As for Juarez, their loss dropped their record down to 16-3.

Coming up, Lincoln Park will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Von Steuben at 4:30 p.m. As for Juarez, they will head out to face off against Hancock at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
