Softball Recap: Belmont Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Belmont put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Tremont Eagles a 10-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-0 last Friday.

Britley Hardin made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Brilei Dees was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Klara Kate Bohannon was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one RBI.

Belmont's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs over those games. As for Tremont, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Belmont will square off against Falkner at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tremont, they will take on Shannon at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
