Football Game Preview: Archmere Academy Auks vs. Wilmington Friends Quakers

Archmere Academy is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Saturday. They will venture away from home to square off against the Wilmington Friends Quakers at 2:30 p.m.

Archmere Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Delaware's top teams: Lake Forest, who was ranked seventh at the time (Archmere Academy was ranked 13th). The Auks came up short against the Spartans on Saturday, falling 35-13.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wilmington Friends). They blew past St. Andrew's 49-14 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Quakers.

The victory got Wilmington Friends back to even at 2-2. As for Archmere Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.

Archmere Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Wilmington Friends when the teams last played back in November of 2024, but they still walked away with a 20-14 win. Will the Auks repeat their success, or do the Quakers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
