Basketball Game Preview: Hagerman Bobcats vs. Eunice Cardinals

Hagerman hasn't had much luck against Eunice recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Hagerman Bobcats challenge the Eunice Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Hagerman didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 38-27 victory over New Mexico Military Institute on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bobcats.

Meanwhile, Eunice entered their tilt with Tularosa on Friday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They were the clear victor by a 52-27 margin over the Wildcats. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 21 points or more this season.

Hagerman is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Eunice, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-3.

Things could have been worse for Hagerman, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-38 loss to Eunice in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Hagerman avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
