Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for David Thibodaux

David Thibodaux waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 14-5 margin over the Abbeville Fighting Wildcats. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 13-3 win on Saturday.

Robert Davis made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Caleb Schexnayder was a standout: he earned one RBI, two runs, and four stolen bases. David Thibodaux is undefeated when Schexnayder posts two or more runs, but 4-22 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Devon Hammond, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs.

David Thibodaux hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Abbeville struck out seven times.

David Thibodaux's win bumped their record up to 7-22. As for Abbeville, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-29.

As of now, neither David Thibodaux nor the Fighting Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
