Softball Recap: South Newton Rebels vs. Kouts Mustangs & Fillies

Thursday just wasn't the day for South Newton's offense. They came up short against the Kouts Mustangs & Fillies on Thursday, falling 15-0. The Rebels haven't had much luck with the Mustangs & Fillies recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

South Newton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayleigh Burton, who went 2-for-3 with one double. Cora Groover also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

South Newton's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Kouts, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-7.

Coming up, South Newton will head out to square off against North Judson-San Pierre at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Rebels are facing the Bluejays at the right time seeing as the Bluejays are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Kouts, they will welcome Washington Township at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
