Basketball Recap: El Dorado Cougars vs. Buhach Colony Thunder
El Dorado was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 78-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Buhach Colony Thunder.

Loss or not, El Dorado got some senior leadership from Logan Baker and Drew Bird. Baker almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine boards, while Bird went 9 of 18 on his way to 22 points. Baker's afternoon made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan McCarty, who posted nine points and seven assists.
Even though they lost, El Dorado smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive games.
Buhach Colony was led to victory by Carter Chapman and Elijah Garza. Chapman almost dropped a double-double on 27 points and nine boards, while Garza went 7 of 11 on his way to 22 points in addition to eight assists and three steals. Garza continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Cortez, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.
El Dorado's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Buhach Colony, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.
El Dorado wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 73-67 loss against Argonaut on the 7th. As for Buhach Colony, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 73-34 defeat against Turlock on the 6th.
