Baseball Game Preview: Battle Ground Tigers vs. Mountain View Thunder

The Battle Ground Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Mountain View Thunder at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Battle Ground is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another highly-ranked state team: Clackamas, who was ranked fifth in their home state at the time (Battle Ground was ranked first). The Tigers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Cavaliers a 1-0 shutout on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for the Tigers, who have now won three games in a row.

While Mountain View didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They had just enough and edged out Prairie 6-4. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Battle Ground's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Mountain View, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

Battle Ground got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in April of 2025 against Mountain View by a conclusive 11-1 score. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Thunder have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
