Volleyball Recap: Elianna Bancroft Key Part of Team Effort in Coyotes Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Red Mountain, Skyline was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against Combs by a score of 2-0.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Skyline to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elianna Bancroft, who had 19 assists and three aces. Bancroft is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 15 or more in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Clara Lopez, who had nine kills and three blocks.

They weren't the only good servers: Skyline was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Combs only served six.

Skyline's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Combs, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Coincidentally, Skyline and Combs will both be playing Deer Valley the next time they take the court. Combs will head out to face Deer Valley at 2:45 p.m. on Friday, while Skyline will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
