Baseball Recap: Alvirne Comes Up Short

Alvirne fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Manchester Central on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Little Green by a score of 2-1. The Broncos' loss continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

Alvirne saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charlie Crawford, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.

Alvirne's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Manchester Central, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-14.

Coming up, Alvirne will face off against Timberlane at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Manchester Central, they will head out to take on Concord at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games the Crimson Tide have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
