Minooka and Yorkville are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Indians will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Foxes at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Yorkville will be up against a hot Minooka team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Indians put the hurt on Oswego East with a sharp 11-1 win on Tuesday. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by eight runs or more this season.
Marina Hristov tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ava Carlson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Gracie Anderson was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Minooka was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .538. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Yorkville got the win against Bolingbrook on Tuesday by a conclusive 11-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Foxes.
Callie Ferko was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kayla Kersting, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-1.
Minooka's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Yorkville, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 8-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Minooka hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Yorkville struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
