The Cypress Christian Warriors will challenge the Kelly Catholic Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Cypress Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Frassati Catholic a 20-0 shutout on Friday. The Warriors have beaten the Falcons the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Falcons has come to flipping the script.
KK Smith was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring four runs while going 3-for-3. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in February.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Audrey Petrowski, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Megan Smith, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Cypress Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 12.2.
Meanwhile, Kelly Catholic got the win against Frassati Catholic last Friday by a conclusive 19-9.
Kelly Catholic also got a great performance from Claudia Espinosa as she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits.
On the hitting side, Abigail Brown was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Madison Fleming was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
Kelly Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 11-16-2. As for Cypress Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cypress Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .351. However, it's not like Kelly Catholic struggles in that department as they've averaged .354. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Cypress Christian's way against Kelly Catholic when the teams last played back in March, as Cypress Christian made off with a 10-3 victory. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
