Baseball Recap: Appleton East Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for Appleton East's offense. They lost 12-0 to the De Pere Redbirds on Saturday. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Redbirds: they've now lost three in a row.

Appleton East's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for De Pere, they pushed their record up to 9-5 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Appleton East will take on Oshkosh West at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for De Pere, they will be playing at home against Green Bay Southwest at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19.23 runs per game on average), something the Redbirds will no doubt try to take advantage of.
