Basketball Recap: Tarboro's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Washington County, Tarboro was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Rocky Mount Prep Jaguars by a score of 45-35. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Vikings as it put an end to their 15-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Rocky Mount Prep's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amora Franklin, who posted four points in addition to 14 boards and five steals. Another player making a difference was Sumaya Lancaster, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Tarboro's victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-7. As for Rocky Mount Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Tarboro has already played their next match (against North East Carolina Prep), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Rocky Mount Prep has already played their next contest, a 41-40 win against Southeast Halifax on the 17th.
