Soccer Preview: Beaver vs. Central Valley
The Beaver Bobcats will head out on the road to take on the Central Valley Warriors on Saturday. Beaver knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Central Valley likes a good challenge.
Beaver is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They blew past Ellwood City 12-0 on Thursday. Beaver haven't had any issues with Ellwood City recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Beaver's offense was hitting Ellwood City from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Anthony Furda led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for four goals all by himself.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Central Valley's offense. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hopewell on Thursday.
Beaver's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Central Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
Everything went Beaver's way against Central Valley when the teams last played back in September, as Beaver made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
