It was a proper cat-fight when Foundation Christian Academy took on Gulf Coast HEAT on Friday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 80-58 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Foundation Christian Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Devin Griffin, who posted 18 points. Those 18 points gave Griffin a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Riley Hiestand, who scored 14 points.

Meanwhile, Oasis Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 79-35 loss at the hands of Four Corners.

Foundation Christian Academy will have to keep a close watch on Justin Linares and Yebriel Perez, a pair of players who had a big impact on Oasis Christian's prior game. Linares earned 22 points and eight boards, while Perez put up five points along with 13 rebounds and six blocks. Perez is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Almonte, who had eight points and eight steals.

Oasis Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Foundation Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
