Baseball Recap: Meek Takes a Loss

After flying high against Phillips last Tuesday, Meek came back down to earth. The Tigers came up short against the Curry Yellowjackets on Friday, falling 12-2. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Yellowjackets this season, with their most recent defeat being a 5-3 loss back in March.

Meek saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Conner Lane, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-3. Lane has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last four times he's played.

Meek's loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Curry, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-14.

Meek didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-3 defeat against Cold Springs on the 14th. As for Curry, they have also already played their next contest, a 6-5 loss against Oakman on the 14th.
