Baseball Recap: Tuscarora Sets Scoring Season-High Against Rock Ridge

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tuscarora). They were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Rock Ridge Phoenix on Thursday. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Phoenix recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Caleb Kim looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Michael Kozikowski was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three RBI. He has become a key player for Tuscarora: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brett Majkowski, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.

Tuscarora hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rock Ridge struck out eight times.

Tuscarora pushed their record up to 7-10 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Rock Ridge, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.

Tuscarora has already played their next matchup (against Broad Run), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Rock Ridge also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Langley.
