Recap: Dunbar Crimson Tide vs. Archbishop Carroll Lions
On Monday, the Dunbar Crimson Tide faced the Archbishop Carroll Lions in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Dunbar took a serious blow against Archbishop Carroll, falling 74-33. Dunbar was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-15.
Heidi Williams was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds for Archbishop Carroll. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aliyah Duncan, who scored 13 points.
Dunbar's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Archbishop Carroll, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dunbar will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against McKinley Tech at 5:30 p.m. on January 22nd. Archbishop Carroll won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Bishop Ireton at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Bishop Ireton will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
