Volleyball Game Preview: Making Waves Academy Marlins vs. Valley Christian Vikings

The Making Waves Academy Marlins will face off against the Valley Christian Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Making Waves Academy is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest defeat since March 26, 2024 on Monday. They lost 3-0 to Pinole Valley. The loss was the Marlins' first of the season.

While Making Waves Academy had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-24, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Valley Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Fremont Christian, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-23, 25-14.

Having lost for the first time this season, Making Waves Academy fell to 2-1. As for Valley Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Making Waves Academy suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Valley Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2022. Can Making Waves Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
