Volleyball Recap: Widefield Gladiators vs. Palmer Terrors

Widefield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Palmer Terrors, falling 3-0. The Gladiators were not able to make up for their defeat to the Terrors from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Widefield was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-18, 25-15.

Palmer can attribute much of their success to Taytum Soppe-Cope, who had 11 digs and two assists. Soppe-Cope has been hot, having posted 11 or more digs the last five times she's played.

Widefield's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Palmer, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Widefield is set to take on their familiar foe Mesa Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Palmer will square off against rival Canon City at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
