Soccer Game Preview: Frontier vs. Liberty

The Frontier Titans will head out on the road to challenge the Liberty Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Frontier's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for 11 straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Frontier fell victim to Stockdale and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 756th, while the Mustangs are ranked 134th).

Meanwhile, Liberty hasn't lost a match since January 7th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Independence.

Mekai Dallas was the driving force of Liberty's attack as he scored both of Liberty's goals, bringing his season total up to 11 goals.

Liberty's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2-5. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Frontier, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9-5.

Frontier might still be hurting after the 4-0 loss they got from Liberty in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can Frontier avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
