Basketball Game Preview: Garfield Heights Bulldogs vs. Lutheran East Falcons

The Garfield Heights Bulldogs will take on the Lutheran East Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. One thing working in Garfield Heights' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Last Thursday, Garfield Heights didn't have too much trouble with Warrensville Heights as they won 59-45. The 59-point effort marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Lutheran East earned a 76-69 victory over Villa Angela-St. Joseph on Friday. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Vikings are ranked 230th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Lutheran East and bumps their season record up to 7-1. As for Garfield Heights, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Garfield Heights came up short against Lutheran East in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, falling 59-53. Can Garfield Heights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
