San Marin is 8-2 against San Rafael since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Mustangs are taking a road trip to challenge the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
While San Marin's win against Terra Linda wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mustangs skirted past the Trojans 7-5. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won nine in a row.

San Marin got a great performance from Tanner O'Keefe as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. O'Keefe also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Mustangs are undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 6-7 otherwise.
At the plate, Sean McGrath and Hugh Brady did most of the damage at the plate: McGrath went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Brady went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs. That's the most RBI McGrath has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Matthew Baldino, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for San Rafael, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Archie Williams 2-1. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bulldogs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
San Rafael's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cruz Wexler, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double.
San Marin pushed their record up to 13-7 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for San Rafael, their record is now 10-11.
San Marin took their victory against San Rafael in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-6 score. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
