            Softball Recap: Vintage Crushers vs. American Canyon Wolves        
        
		
        
        
            Vintage won the last time they faced American Canyon and things went their way  on Friday too. The Crushers blew past the Wolves 8-1. With that  win, the Crushers brought their scoring average up to 6.2  runs per game.
 Angie Rubalcava made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out ten batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits. Rubalcava was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-4 with one  home run and three  RBI.

 In other batting news,  Abygail Sims was  incredible,  scoring a  run and  stealing three bases while  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances. Those  three  stolen bases gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Aliyah McDonald, who  scored a  run and  stole three bases while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances.
Vintage pushed their record up to 7-3 with the  victory, which was their third straight  on the road. The  road  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for American Canyon, their defeat  ended  a  nine-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 8-5-1.
 Looking ahead, Vintage will head out to  square off against Petaluma  at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (the Crushers 1.6, the Trojans 3.1) so any  runs scored will be well earned. As for American Canyon, they will host Maria Carrillo  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
