Basketball Recap: Buena Takes a Loss

The Buena Colts lost 51-30 to the Alchesay Falcons on Friday. The contest marked the Colts' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Alchesay's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Peyton Parker, who went 6 of 8 on her way to 12 points and four steals. Parker is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Lenea Lavender, who posted 14 points and three steals.

Buena's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Alchesay, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

Buena will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cholla at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025. As for Alchesay, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 39-35 victory against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy on the 28th.
