Basketball Game Preview: Howard Tech Hustlin' Tigers vs. McMinn County Cherokees

The Howard Tech Hustlin' Tigers are taking a road trip to face off against the McMinn County Cherokees at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Howard Tech is looking for their season's first victory.

Last Thursday, Howard Tech came up short against Chattanooga Central and fell 54-44.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for McMinn County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They skirted past McCallie 44-41. The win was some much needed relief for the Cherokees as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

McMinn County's victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Howard Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-15.

Howard Tech couldn't quite finish off McMinn County in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 and fell 56-53. Can Howard Tech avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
