Softball Preview: Pacheco Panthers vs. Beyer Patriots        
        
		
            Pacheco hasn't had much luck against Beyer recently, but that could start to change  on Wednesday. The Panthers will challenge the Patriots at 4:00  p.m. Pacheco has given up an average of 12.6  runs per game this season, but Wednesday's  game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Pacheco is headed into Wednesday's   game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 14th straight game  on Monday. They came up short against  Ceres, falling  22-9.
  Sasha Siemiller and  Serenity Martinez stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Siemiller  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI, one  triple,  and one  run, while  Martinez  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Isabella Chavez, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Beyer won against Central Valley  on Friday with nine  runs and they decided to stick to that  run total again  on Monday. The Patriots' pitcher stepped up to hand Grace Davis  a   9-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won ten contests by six  runs or more  so far this season.
The team  relied heavily on  Mackenzie Hough, who  went 2-for-4 with three  RBI and one  double. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in March.  Lily Robinson was another key player,  scoring a  run while going 1-for-4.
 Beyer  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters  in four consecutive  matchups.
 Beyer has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Pacheco, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.
 Pacheco suffered a grim  15-3 defeat to Beyer  in their previous meeting  back in March. Can the Panthers avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
