Preview: Glenwood Springs Demons vs. Grand Junction Tigers

Glenwood Springs has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Grand Junction Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Glenwood Springs has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 236 points over their last four matches.

Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Glenwood Springs beat Summit 59-53.

Sim Wenger was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. He hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Alec Claassen, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Grand Junction didn't have too much trouble with Grand Junction Central on the road on Tuesday as they won 58-41.

Glenwood Springs pushed their record up to 7-8 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Grand Junction, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5.

Glenwood Springs came out on top in a nail-biter against Grand Junction when the teams last played back in January of 2023, sneaking past 58-55. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Grand Junction's Cameron Ochoa, who scored 16 points. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be that much easier for Glenwood Springs to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
