Basketball Recap: Americas' Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

After a string of four wins, Americas's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 34-29 to the Montwood Rams. The Trail Blazers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Americas lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Andre Hernandez, who posted eight points. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 41.7% three-point shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Coby Helpley, who had seven points.

Americas' defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Montwood, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Americas will square off against Eastwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Montwood, they will challenge Las Cruces at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
