Basketball Recap: Sports Leadership & Management Drops Season-High Score on Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sports Leadership & Management). They took down the Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon Pirate 77-59 on Tuesday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Bulls with their most commanding win of the season.

Alaijah Young was his usual excellent self, going 12 for 19 on his way to 30 points and six rebounds. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Pablo-Ernestro Cruz-Lara was another key player, going 6 of 9 on his way to 14 points along with five boards and three blocks.

Sports Leadership & Management's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7. As for Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon, they dropped their record down to 5-6 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sports Leadership & Management will head out to take on Doral Academy Red Rock at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Pinecrest Academy Sloan Canyon, they will venture away from home to challenge Pahrump Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
