Softball Recap: Northeast Vernon County Comes Up Short

Northeast Vernon County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the Liberal Bulldogs, falling 17-1. The matchup marked the Knights' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Northeast Vernon County's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Liberal, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-4.

Looking ahead, Northeast Vernon County will head out on the road to square off against Golden City at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Liberal, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 8-2 win against Midway on the 11th.
