Volleyball Recap: Dixie County Find Success

While Dixie County's win against Cedar Key wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bears sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Sharks on Saturday. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Sharks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Dixie County had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-18, 15-12.

Jaicee Brown was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 24 digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last 22 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Addie Whitaker, who had 15 digs and one assist.

Dixie County's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Cedar Key, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-5.

Dixie County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Oak Hall on the 27th. Cedar Key has also already played their next match (against Columbia), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
