Football Recap: Schuyler Falls to Louisville in First Game of Season

Schuyler unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Louisville Lions on Friday, falling 54-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Mitch Shelsta was a one-man wrecking crew For Louisville. as he rushed for 85 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries, and also caught a pair of TDs. Jaxon Stander was in the mix as well, providing the Lions with two scores.

Schuyler didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-20 defeat against Concordia on the 5th. As for Louisville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 42-20 loss against Milford on the 5th.
