Basketball Recap: Washington-Liberty Comes Up Short

Washington-Liberty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 49-34 to the George C. Marshall Statesmen. While losing is never fun, the Generals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while the Statesmen are ranked 52nd).

Washington-Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 6-17. As for George C. Marshall, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

Washington-Liberty does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for George C. Marshall, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Wakefield School at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
