Baseball Recap: Half Moon Bay Takes a Loss

Half Moon Bay lost against El Camino back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cougars fell just short of the Colts by a score of 2-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Kai Kung was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Half Moon Bay saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Heath, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Half Moon Bay's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-16. As for El Camino, their victory bumped their record up to 7-17.

While Half Moon Bay had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
