Basketball Recap: Dell Rapids Comes Up Short at Home Against West Central

Dell Rapids unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 51-44 to the West Central Trojans on Friday. The Quarriers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Dell Rapids lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Karson Paye, who posted 19 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Jack Kloth, who went 5 of 9 en route to 13 points and seven rebounds.

Dell Rapids will take on Baltic in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. West Central and Vermillion will compete for holiday cheer at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
